Crooked Cannon began in the Spring of 2016 as a group of friends who met in the local Denver/Boulder Bluegrass jam scene. All were from unique backgrounds with a history of different musical tastes, including Blues, Jazz, Country, Rock, and Traditional Bluegrass. Although the membership has changed over the years, the song list continues to reflect this very eclectic mix of styles. The repertoire includes tunes from John Prine, the Moody Blues, Duke Ellington, the Beatles, Peter Rowan, and Django Reinhardt. The band likes to keep its approach fresh, and keep it's audience guessing. Members include John Gowdy on vocal and mandolin, Ernie Johnson on vocal, guitar, and harmonica, Michael Zwiebel on banjo, Maya Fabrikant on vocal and fiddle, and Janeen Bogue on vocal and bass
